How to get started, step by step

New here? Follow these in order and you'll be set up in a few minutes.

  1. 1

Budgets — plan your monthly spending

Start with tab 1. Add a budget, pick a category and enter a monthly limit in pounds. Repeat for food, bills, travel and other spending. Plus members can use Premium → Automated planner first: enter your monthly take-home pay, adjust the percentages or pound amounts, then send the plan to Budgets.

  2. 2

Transactions — record what actually happens

Next, open tab 2. Press 'Add money in or out', enter the amount, category and date, then save. Use Repeating payments for salary, rent or subscriptions: choose the amount, frequency and first date. You can edit or pause these later. Keep adding spending so your budget balances stay up to date.

  3. 3

    Buckets — build your savings

Open tab 3 when you want to save for something. Create a bucket with a name and target, and optionally a target date. Record each contribution when you actually put money aside so you can track your progress.

  4. 4

    Dashboard — review and adjust

Use tab 4 to review your money in, money out, budget balances and charts. Choose a month or year using the period filter. Check it regularly, then return to Budgets to adjust your limits or Transactions to add anything missing. You can revisit any tab at any time.
